March A Box, Indied Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

Another start of a month and another indie box!  A Box, Indied can be purchased from Llarowe, which is an online distributor of domestic and international indies.  The polishes in the box are all limited edition and this month is sold out.  This month the box theme was Mardi Gras.  Now let's get to some swatches!

The first polish is a fun glitter topper called Bad Catholic, from Crow's Toes.  It contains several sizes of hex glitters in the colors of gold, green and purple.  In the photos I have it as a glitter gradient over green, gold, and purple.  I also did two coats dabbed on the thumb and pinky and got full coverage (it was over black).

Second we have Bal Masque from Contrary Polish, which is a blue-grey crelly with gold shimmer infused in it.  What I really enjoy about this polish is that it is a beautiful original color palette.  Blue-grey and gold?  Yes please!  Below is three coats for total opacity.  The last photo I used for nail art for the theme of luck, I chose the Chinese word "fu"which means blessed.

Next we have a lovely holo called Flash Your Tips.  Yes, a fun festive name that is a little sassy too!  This purple holo sparkles like you wouldn't believe…so yes, your tips will flash (now you understand the name!).  First photo is taken in the light box in filtered light (holo hiding).

The last polish is a fun glitter crelly from Hare Polish called Phat Tuesday.  It is navy blue and contains purple, lavender and silver hexes and olive green squares.  I decided to show it in matte form for the first photo and then shiny form - fun with topcoats!

Now, I know you are asking "Wait, don't the boxes come with 5 polishes?"  Why, yes…they do.  This month the fifth item is a limited edition scented cuticle balm from Glisten and Glow.  Not sure how I feel about this.  I am like any other nail polish addict - obsessed with cuticle care, but can it really replace a limited edition polish?  The balm does smell good, but it's not polish.  :( OK, done whining.

What is your favorite?  How do you feel about the cuticle balm instead of polish?

Happy Polishing,
Kristi aka @beginnails
