Liquid Kandi Happy Hour Collection Swatch and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

*Press Sample*
Today I have the Happy Hour Collection from Liquid Kandi to share.  Kim, the owner of Liquid Kandi used her favorite happy hour drinks as inspiration for this summer neon collection.  The Liquid Kandi line is 5-free so they don't contain any of the 5 harsh chemicals that can be found in polish.

Now let's get to some swatches!

First up is Strawberry Margarita, the perfect drink after work with a nice mango salsa and chips!  Strawberry Margarita is a bright neon pink creme.  Formula was easy to work with and applied perfect.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Next is Bahama Mama, an orange-red neon creme.  I really liked this color, almost a neon red.  Formula was perfect and went on smooth.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

Sunrise is a true orange neon creme.  Depending on your monitor the orange may be more subdued, but it is truly a neon orange.  This is the only one that needed 3 coats for total opacity as it applied a bit streaky.  It also had some pigment clumps, but as I brushed they dissolved so it did not impact the look or finish of the polish at all.  In addition, Kim has worked on the formula and now they should be absent of any issues.  Photos show the 3 coats for opacity and Liquid Kandi Get Wet Top Coat.

The blindingly bright (in a good way) neon yellow creme is called Citrus Dream.  I had a difficult time trying to capture this color as it is so neon my camera flipped out.  I was tempted to put my sunglasses on while editing photos!  Photos show 3 coats for total opacity with shiny top coat.

Appletini is the green neon creme.  This green is soothing to my eyes and reminds me of lush vegetation.  Plus, who doesn't love an Appletini while wearing a classic little black dress?  Photos show 2 coats with Liquid Kandi Get Wet Top Coat.

Blue Hawaiian is the deep rich neon blue creme.  Blue Hawaiian is another favorite of mine in this collection.  Photos show 2 coats with Liquid Kandi Get Wet Top Coat.

The last creme is Grapetart.  Grapetart is a neon purple which looks just as juicy as the drink sounds! Photos show 2 coats with shiny top coat.

The namesake of the collection is a glitter topper called Happy Hour.  It contains small and micro silver holographic hexes, along with neon blue, yellow, pink and green matte hexes and squares in a clear base.  Photos show 2 coats dabbed on (no glitter fishing or placement needed) over Jenna Hipp's I Cast A Spell On Blue with shiny top coat (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th photos) and also over Blue Hawaii with Liquid Kandi Get Wet Top Coat (5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th photos).

Loves:  Fun bright collection that is perfect for summer.  I loved that Happy Hour needed no glitter fishing or placement.  Liquid Kandi polish is also 5-free, so it doesn't contain 5 nasties that can be found in polish.

Wishes:   I compared a few of the polishes from last year's neon collection from Kim to this years.  I will do a comparison post to share what differences I saw.  Although the formula on Sunrise was slightly streaky, I was able to achieve full opacity on it with 3 coats and any pigments that ended up on my nail dissolved with a brush stroke.

What is your favorite neon mani for the summer?  I am loving neon and black lately!
